Witnessing the Greatest Commandment In telling others about Christ Jesus is Christians greatest calling. The Bible says: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28: 18-20) In both scriptures a commandment was given to the Old and the New Testament. That our primary action, our great commission is the act of preaching and teaching the gospel to those to enhance the Kingdom. The action for which portrays is advocated between the person and God. As a messenger of the Lord Almighty we open ourselves as tools being used as if a painter uses his paintbrushes against the canvass of life. In Jesus statements which were recorded in the Gospel of Luke as a particular or a specific mission within His presence on earth as well as an insight for you and I. The Bible says: “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” (Luke 19:10) As well as the gospel of the Apostle Matthew records the same words within the first book of New Testament, the Bible says: “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” (Matthew 18:11) As Christians we know that Christ Jesus in heaven represents us and we represent Christ here on earth. We are the physical link between the lost and Christ. The Bible says: “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (2Corinthians 5:20) We see here in this scripture the word “ambassador” means: “official representative of the highest rank, courier of goodwill.” We govern to be that particular person to deliver God’s message to all those that are lost. We are to be the Living word and testimony of Christ Jesus. We have to understand that in our ambassadorship we carry hope, life, and death. The Bible says: “For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” (2Corinthians 2: 15-17) We as members of the Body of Christ must not ever forget that our power comes from our ambassadorship through our sender for whom we represent. The Bible says: “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:14-15) The Bible also says: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7) In proclaiming the good news not only is it a commandment but as well a blessing to bring God’s word to the lost. As carriers of the gospel we are compel to deliver the good news to those for which is lost of obedience to the Lord and Savior. The word ‘obedience “means: “both, “listen to act upon, obey.” The Bible says: “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:35-40) These verses let us know that Christ reason for coming is to give us an example of our life commission of gathering souls. The Bible says: “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9: 36-38)Within Christ example He also gave us the commission to do what he had come to do. With that God had empowered us to present His word to the lost. We most truly understand that are witness is power. It is the greatest tool to use to deliver God’s power to another as form of conviction to ones heart. Jesus words reflected as well as were recorded in several areas of the Bible which says to all the Disciples of Christ: “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Act 1:7-8) Within this book we are going to look at different types of skills used to deliver this power, this testimony, and this freedom to another along with the blessing from heaven. We as Christians know that Christ gave two “Great Commandments”. Jesus was particularly concerned with the fact of living up to our obligation in representing Him in our travels. He defined our Great Commandments by saying what they were upon being asked. The Bible records Christ answering in this manner: “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 22: 36-40) We see within those two commandments Christ is showing us our action will represent our hearts desire. It gives us factual reason to tell another about Christ Jesus. What greater way to express your walk with Christ by way of “Love” for the brethren. Christ showed us His love for us in the “Greatest” form. Our reconciliation back to the Father, through Him, by way of sacrifice by submission of His will unto the Father’s plan, the Bible says; “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.” (Matthew 26: 36-38) You ask why this is important. What was it that Love for the Father gave Him in His expression? What is it that our expression of “Love” does, by telling others about Christ Jesus? Those are great questions as well as producing the keys to our walk. First it gave power! That power to endure what is ahead as well as power to stand for righteousness. The Bible says: “And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.” (Luke 22:43) Within the strengthening came power of endurance as well as power to stand for righteousness. Secondly it gave power to repel the enemy. In order to endure and stand for Christ Jesus us as members of the “body of Christ Jesus” we are given authority over our enemy. The Bible says: “Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.” (John 18: 4-6) Jesus had prayed and was strengthening when He spoke to the enemy and the enemy was repelled “knocked to the ground.” The Bible also says: “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1John 4:18) You see in that verse, John the Apostle tells is that our love manifested within us that comes from God empowers us to cast out “fear.” For which we as Christians knows that fear is not of God but the enemy!! Thirdly it gives us growth. The growth is the incense of God’s presence in our walk. As a type of reward our obedience to the love we have for Christ Jesus. Within our growth of knowledge combined with obedience glued together with action causes “Exaltation!! The Bible says: “But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:” (Philippians 2:7-9) Within those few verses along with others “deity” factors of Christ, The Father, uses His obedience of the manifestation of His love grown to the point of total obedience God elevated Him. Which God will do for you as well as me and everyone one else never forget with growth comes joy and fulfillment of the true essence of Christ Jesus in your life. The Bible says: “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteems other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:” (Philippians 2:1-7) We see in those verses Paul addresses the issue of growth and the form of mind of that it takes the issue being in Christ Jesus. To show the growth of love within Him by an outward magnification of putting others first then the magnification of “Love” gives us one more thing. Fourth blessings we do not show God’s love on others expecting anything, we do it because God “Himself” expects it. Not only do God expects it he bestowed it on us and our demonstration of what He did for us, we expressed that through the “love” we have for the brethren, in delivering God’s word to another which gives us eternal Blessing from God. The Bible says: “Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” (James 5:8) You see that are blessings are eternal for which is glorious gift. These are the four essential points for which witnessing is a right, necessity, blessing, and empowering gift. I suppose you wondering why I called it the Great Commandment. We spoke earlier about the two “Great Commandments, for which Jesus summed up for us, so how do I figure this is God’s Great Commandment. We know that God gave His people a Great Commission. The word “Commission” means: a formal: order granting the power to perform various acts or duties (Encarta Dictionary: English (North America) Thesaurus: English (U.S.) In another reference the word means: 1. an authorization to perform certain duties or tasks b) a document giving such authorization of the authority so granted 2. that which on is authorized to do 3. a group of people appointed to perform specified duties 4. a committing: doing 5. a percentage of money from sales, allotted to an agent, etc. 6. Mil. a) an official certificate conferring rank b) the rank conferred _ vt. 1. to give a commission to 2. to authorize 3. to put (a ship or boat) into service---in (or out of) commission in (or not in) working order (Webster’s New World Dictionary and Thesaurus Second Edition)The word “Commandment” means: directive (n.) (Encarta Dictionary: English North America Thesaurus: English U.S. In another reference the word means: (root word command) [[<L com-, intens. + mankare, entrust]] 1. to give an order to; direct 2. to have authority over: control 3. to have for us /to command a fortune/ 4. to deserve and get /to command respect/ 5. to control (apposition): over look –vi. To have authority –n. 1. an order; direction 2. controlling power or position 3. mastery 4. military or naval force or strict under a specified authority. (Webster’s New World Dictionary and Thesaurus Second Edition) The suffix “ment” means: [[L. mentum]] suffix 1. a result 2. a means of 3.an act 4. a state [enchantment] Now armed with the definitions of the words then we see that both words are primary the same it seems on top. “Commission” and “Commandment” can be viewed the same but in doing that we will take away from one and add to another. I want you to look clearly at the words and see if you see the difference. You see my understanding of the fact of witnessing is most defiantly the one command that could only express the actual application of the two Great Commandments. Witnessing is the breath of Christ exhaling from the believer. This is the expression of total obedient and submission to the anointing of Christ Jesus. Within this book we will together look at the deliverance of the power of God increasing the Kingdom. We will also look at the principles of spiritual deliverance. The concept of Biblical principles that will enhance not only our walk but also our communion with Christ Jesus, the Bible says: “I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” (1Corinthians 1: 4-9) You see within those few verses we see it is God Almighty who confirms us in Him through our fellowship with others within that fellowship is the outward spreading of the gospel. The outward spreading of the gospel is the cleaning source of our sins. The Bible says: “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1John 1: 5-7) We must hold on to the fellowship between Christ and us which will enhance our relationship with the fellowship. Not only in fellowship of believers no distinction is recognized between the Jews and Gentiles, slave and free, male and female, for belief in Christ has made all one and equal to Christ. The Bible says: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28) Which most defiantly lets us know that are witness or Great Commandment is for all that we come into contact with. Regardless of any excuse, fear or feeling we have towards another!! We must never forget there is nothing more important then the gathering of the lost. The Bible says: “And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” (Jude 1: 22-23) We are the instruments for which God uses to embrace the world with His presence. Our action as Christians are the paint brushes stroke on the canvass of sin, for which positively snatches those who are lost from the fire of Hell!! This is needs all the members of the body of Christ, muscle for which connects us to one another. The actions which increase are measure of muscles. Our action of witnessing is the flexing of God’s power strengthening the body by the increasing of members, as well as strengthening of each person, by the delivering of God’s word to another. We know that as members of the body of Christ bearing witness to the light is through out the Bible. This is particular about who we bear witnessing to an about. In the Gospel of John he recorded: “The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” (John 1: 7-9) We know that we aren’t the light but carry the light and bear witness to the light so all can come into the light. John the Baptist was a most powerful witness about Christ. Wouldn’t it be are goal to become so powerful in the witnessing as Paul or John the Baptist was in walk and conversation. The Bible says: “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1: 7-8) We were most defiantly empowered to bear witness to the light even given such power we needs to strengthen ourselves with the knowledge of Christ Jesus. We need to know as members of the Body of Christ how to deliver God’s word to another. We need to ask ourselves is our knowledge as abundant that we need never worry about increasing or knowledge. We need together to increase our knowledge in the word of God. The Bible says: “But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.” (1 Thessalonians 2:4) You see with our powering from the light God entrusted us with His word of light the word of salvation to be God’s messengers to the world. We must be able to present God’s word without doubt or falsehood. The Bible says: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) We have to be accurate in presenting the word of God, and in this action we are approved by God and giving power to deliverance, of His word to bear witness to God. We have to study God’s word to be able to speak the word of God without murmuring from confusion. In Act 17, Paul addresses a group at Mars Hill for which some murmured at his profound deliverance of the word of God. Murmur means: complaint, lack of understanding. He was so profound in his speaking that he lost those for which he came to introduce the gospel to. But quickly Paul himself realized that his speaking the word of God needs no help from us it is powerful than anything we can possible imagine. Paul wrote a letter addressing this very issue. The Bible says: “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (1Corinthians 2:1-5) He sees here Paul examines his words to present the word of God with no illumination of himself. Let nothing to take anything away from the word of God. We know that the word of God cannot go out void. The Bible says: “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”(Isaiah 55:11) Jesus Christ, Himself, spoke this way about this issue: “Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:34-35) Within these few verses we know that God’s word will accomplish what it sets out to do. Without our interference or our pride, the pure word of God shall accomplish what it was intended to do. This what gives our witness the power for which it changes life. Through our acceptance of Jesus Christ in our life into our heart we are instantly able to express what God has given us to another. In that God empowers our word which delivers conviction of the Holy Spirit, which transforms ones heart from stanch to flesh. The Bible says: “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:” (Ezekiel 11:19) The Bible gives up description of God’s word of power for which ordains in us through the excepting of Him in our lives. When we except life over death, light over darkness, we have the ability to give this to another. Our witness is the giving force of this power. In this book for which God prepared me to do is to introduce the wondrous power on acceptance of God’s loving grace in my life, and my expression of my love to Him by my witnessing to others. This book wills open doors for which Christ Jesus wanted us to step in. We are ready to become fullness of the glorious power of Christ Jesus in our lives. We will look at different techniques as well as principles. We will also together address some Christian’s myths that have rendered one unable to present the Word of God. I am most delighted to bring this book unto you. With the guidance of our beloved Lord and Savior has place in me the ability to feel the pulse of God’s people and present my self unto Him to be used. I want you to know that a “Commission” is some one giving you authority to do something as if I tell you I am giving you the authority to take care of my health decisions, and this is very understandable of what witnessing is. I want you to know that the Bible has reference to that exactly the Bible says: “ And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching. And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:” (Mark 6: 6-8) Now notice how the definition of “Commission” that Christ Jesus and gave them something the power to do something. We truly understand that we cannot witness unless Christ Jesus is with us. The big difference is that “Commandment” is to be told go forth and do something. As if the revelation was that you have seen enough you have me with you and you know what I have done for you now go and tell another. Amen.” (Matthew 28: 17-20) The Bible also says: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” (Mark 16:15-20) Notice in these few scriptures Christ said GO!! Commanding them to go as if the revelation revealed unto the disciples as well as you and I that we have the power that have been already ordained within our salvation now Christ saying you go with that authority and take what I have given you and pass it on for my glorification. This is the wonderful revelation I receive that the greatest gift that I can give another is the gift of the words of the Lord that will offer everlasting life. Want an eternal gift Praise God! I truly embrace by the power of God appearing in my heart illuminating great joy and happiness. We as members of the Body of Christ here to make witness a part of our life. The Bible says: “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:” (John 15:26) I plead with you the reader to embrace this book to receive the blessing of Christ Jesus when we express our “lives” through our testimony of Him. We will take a look at the testimony or witness in nor only verbal but as well as action and spiritual conformation. Those that view us as strange or different or even peculiar are constantly observing our presence. Remember I know Christ Jesus because there was one that told me so let’s see how to tell Praise God!! |
